  • New issue (2/2026) of the FGF/IfM Bonn Policy Brief titled “Economic uncertainty affects parenting goals” has been published

    8. May 2026

Children of self-employed parents tend to be more open to becoming self-employed later in life than children of parents in salaried employment. However, an upbringing focused on risk avoidance can offset this positive effect. Against the backdrop of economic uncertainty, Dr Stefan Schneck analyses whether parents are currently encouraging their children more strongly to avoid risk.

The article “Economic uncertainty affects parenting goals” has been published in the Policy Brief series of FGF and IfM Bonn.
