    Children of self-employed parents tend to be more open to becoming self-employed later in life than children of parents in salaried employment. However, an upbringing focused on risk avoidance can offset this positive effect. Against the backdrop of economic uncertainty, Dr Stefan Schneck analyses whether parents are currently encouraging their children more strongly to avoid risk.
