On January 21, 2026, from 14:00–15:30 the SIGU platform will host an online workshop on science communication in social innovation. The workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners and to strengthen the transfer of scientific knowledge into society.
The topic of science communication was introduced at the FGF Spring Meeting 2024 by Sumaya Islam (Paderborn University), Michael Wunsch (Berlin University of Applied Sciences), and Fabian Oestricher (Hilfswerft) and highlighted the strong demand within the FGF community to make research more visible and to enhance transfer into practice—so that academic work can create impact not only in journals but also in society. This workshop offers an opportunity to continue the exchange on societal impact.
